Antartica: Introduction

ANTARTICA.

I set up this blog as a way to share the antartica trip I took with Ross and Tash in 2010. I still have a lot to add.... life (as usual) got very busy after this 30 days of tranquility :)

Arriving at the Faulkland Islands/The Malvinas.

At Stanley we discovered late in the evening that we would not be able to board the ship due to the weather conditions. Within an hour the expedition crew had managed to arrange accommodation with the generous locals for the 110 odd passengers, but in the meantime we got to enjoy the local (and only) pub, probably clean out their entire food stocks, and wander around the streets quite aimlessly. Ross had his first encounter (of many) with the celebrity of his name in this part of the world.

Getting ready to finally go on the ship the next morning....

Artsy Antartica

I haven't sorted all my photos out but found these odds and ends of photos I started having fun with- yes, very artsy i'm afraid, no restraint at all.
